In Saturday\’s district tournament, the Chargers played two games, scored two runs, had two shutouts, to pick up two wins for their second straight district title, beating Bay City Central 1-0 in nine innings in the championship game. Read→
The Chargers played small ball to get a run in the top of the second, and relied on a stellar pitching performance by Courtney King to hold on for the 1-0 win Saturday over the cross-town rival Chemics and advance to the district championship game. Read→
The Midland High varsity softball team took advantage of a five-run fourth inning and 10 strikeouts from Jami Shafley to take a 5-2 contest over host Bay City Western Tuesday in the opening round of the district softball tournament. Read→

The Trojans were no match for the Chargers, as the Midland Dow junior varsity softball team proved Wednesday night dominating Traverse City Central 15-5 in the opener before improving on that mark in the nightcap with a 13-2 romp to sweep the series at Dow High. Read→
Dow High scored 29 runs during its doubleheader and improved its season record to 24-7 overall as the Chargers took care of Traverse City Central Wednesday and swept two games at Dow High School. Read→
The junior varsity series was every bit as dramatic as the varsity, as the Midland junior varsity softball team was able to pull out a 7-5 win in the opener before visiting Midland Dow squeaked out a 5-4 win in the nightcap Monday at Midland High. Defense was the key Saturday, as the Midland Dow junior varsity softball team was able to play solid defensive softball to pull out a close 5-4 contest versus Coleman before errors caught up with them in the nightcap falling to cross-town rival Midland 13-10 at the Midland Quad. Read→
