Meridian employed a suffocating defense Friday, scoring two defensive touchdowns to lead the Mustangs to a 34-7 win over Tawas in the opening round of the Division 5 football playoffs. Jason Hockemeyer and Dakota Brodsky tied for the team lead with eight tackles apiece. Offensively, Matt Bowen finished with 147 yards on 17 carries to lead the Mustangs. Read→
The Big Ten connection was in full effect Friday at Midland Community Stadium as Spartan commit Andrew Maxwell and Northwestern-bound Drew Moulton combined for three touchdowns to lead Midland to a 42-7 win over visiting Arthur Hill in the first round of the Division 2 football playoffs. Read→
The Midland Chemics varsity volleyball team swept visiting Heritage 25-17, 25-10, 25-17 to pick up a win and improve their record to 10-0 in league play for a third straight year.
