After trailing 21-6 at the half, the Midland High junior varsity girl’s basketball team staged a furious comeback against visiting Bay City Central, pulling to within one with only seconds remaining. As time was about to expire, Russell Mikayla received a pass in the block and banked her shot up and in for what appeared to be the game-winner. However, an offensive foul was called negating the basket as the Wolves held on for the 35-34 victory.

A MidlandSports.com photographer was on hand to capture all of the action and came away with 47 photos from the game. To view the photos, click on “Photo Slideshow” in the top right corner of this article.

The Chemics return to action Friday, December 5 when they travel to Heritage High School to take on the Hawks. Game time is 6 p.m.
