The Great Lakes Loons completed a winless six-game roadtrip Wednesday night, dropping their sixth straight game and their third straight to the Clinton LumberKings by a score of 6-4.

The middle of the LumberKing lineup led the way as Clinton’s 2-6 hitters pitched in with two hits apiece.

Geison Aguasviva (1-2) started for the Loons and surrendered all six runs to record his second loss of the season. Thomas Melgarejo hurled four scoreless innings of relief.

Jaime Ortiz hit a solo homer in the sixth inning, his fourth of the season. Ortiz is now tied with catcher Kenley Jansen for the team lead in home runs (4).

The Loons fall to 4-11 on the road to go with their 7-3 home record in 2008.

The Loons (11-14) return home to host the Beloit Snappers, Midwest League affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. The contest will be the first of a three-game series (10-16). Thursday the Loons take a stand for the fight against pollution in a night dedicated to promoting eco-friendly living in the Loons’ “Going Green Night”.
