The Midland High junior varsity baseball team swept a doubleheader against Saginaw Arthur Hill Thursday, winning game one 14-1 before taking the nightcap 18-0.

Jacob Walter was 2-for-2 in the opening contest and drove in three runs for the Chemics. Walter also started on the mound for Midland and picked up the win.

In game two the Chemics’ bats remained hot, led by Chase Porter’s two hits and five RBIs. Kenny Babinski picked up the win, striking out eight of the nine batters he retired.

Midland returns to action Saturday when they hit the road to take on Traverse City Central. Game time is scheduled for noon.
