The Great Lakes Loons’ franchise-record five-game winning streak came to an end Thursday as the Loons fell to the Lugnuts 8-2.

Garrett White (1-4) gave up three runs in six innings in his second career start. Yulkin German relieved him in the seventh and was tagged with five runs in 2/3 of an inning.

Lansing center fielder Chris Emanuele hit a solo home run in the first inning to kick-start the Lugnuts’ offense. Travis Snider had three hits.

The Loons’ lone runs were driven home on a double by Scott Van Slyke in the seventh, who was thrown out trying to stretch it into a triple.

The Loons begin a three-game series with South Bend Friday to close out the first half of the season. Game time Friday is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
